Why Vegan?

I became vegetarian, then vegan, almost 30 years ago! It was a decision made from the heart when I learned about factory farming and the suffering of animals we "raise" for food, and it was the best decision I ever made. That didn't mean it was easy - I had to figure out to do it properly, how to avoid the junk food and thrive on a healthy vegan diet. But I stuck to it, and I did figure it out, with a lot of help from others along the way.
 
We don't yet live in a vegan world, and there are social and logistical challenges at many crossroads. But the impact a vegan lifestyle has on animals, our planet and our own health, is worth every single struggle. Check this out:

My name is Emma Levez Larocque and I am a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, a Certified Plant-Based Chef, an educator and a journalist. I am passionate about sharing knowledge about how a healthy whole foods, plant-based (vegan) lifestyle can help people to live their best lives, with compassion and while treading as lightly as possible on our planet.

Since 2016 I have done that by teaching nutrition and cooking classes and workshops, and working with people 1-1 and in groups in person and online, and last year I started a YouTube Channel called In My Plant-Based Kitchen. I write articles, share my vegan recipes and generally try to be a resource for people who are interested in making a plant shift.
